Frequently Asked Questions

Glacier National Park Elopement Photographer

Q. Are we a good fit for your wedding day?

A. If you love a true to color and true to life editing style with a mix of posed and documentary style as well as lots of attention to detail, then we are probably a good fit! What does this mean exactly? Basically we will absolutely guide you as needed through out your day to achieve poses that feel and look natural but also love to shoot the organic, real, candid and in between moments that you don’t even know we are capturing as it’s happening. We both pride ourselves on creating dreamy authentic visual storytelling for both photo and film while staying true to color and skin tones with our editing styles. We want our work to feel timeless and never go out of style so when you look back on it years later you still love it and it feels like an heirloom. We also want our photos and films to make you really FEEL. We don’t want anything to feel forced or cheesy and we want everything to feel authentic, real and for you to have fun! It is so important to us that we vibe with each couple who trusts us with their wedding memories and that they not only love our work but also us as well! We find that this makes for better photos and films because you are comfortable and your authentic selves in front of our lens. This also means we only accept a limited amount of weddings per year to make sure each couple receives our best quality of work, time and personal attention for their day. We love all of our couples and usually stay in touch with them long after the wedding is over because we care about your marriage and story together far beyond just your wedding day! We always hope it feels like you’ve gained new friends during the wedding planning journey, the wedding day itself and long after!

Q. What should I expect from both of you?

A. Lots of genuine laughter that creates authentic moments full of joy while documenting you feeling and looking your absolute best! The goal is to ease any stress you may have and for you to have a blast while just being yourself in front of the lens! We strive for real over posed moments but, don’t worry we will pose and direct you when needed. Krystal will usually be the one giving you direction and silly prompts that will make you laugh, have organic movement and feel comfortable. Nick takes more of a documentary style approach when shooting video, capturing things as they naturally unfold and then later weaves your story together into a cinematic film that tells a story. We always want our time together to be fun and effortless. Hopefully you also feel like you have gained new friends in the process of working together! We also love working side by side and have mastered a flow of working together which makes everything cohesive and feel effortless on the wedding day. This is so important when a photographer and videographer are working side by side to capture what they need to for the couple! Every wedding and session is personal to us and we pour our heart, time and talent into each one. Finding the right photo and video team for your day is a feeling. Like the saying goes, when you know, you know!

Q. how long have you been in business?

A. In 2010 Krystal formed her own photography company and in 2019 Nick formed his own videography company. They met shooting a wedding together in 2021, got married in 2023 and shortly after that they joined both of their companies to form West House Visuals and shoot weddings alongside one another as a husband and wife team! Together they have over 20+ years experience combined shooting weddings!

Q. Do you travel?

A. YES! We have traveled all over the US and Internationally for weddings and elopements (and it’s our absolute favorite when people trust us and take us on their adventure with them!) We offer all inclusive collections that include all travel costs (no extra fees) for all weddings within the US and create custom quotes for weddings or elopements outside of the US. Contact us and let’s chat about your adventure!

Q. Are you licensed and insured?

A. Yes! We are a fully licensed and insured business in the state of Florida

Q. How many weddings have you shot?

A. Both Krystal and Nick have shot well over 500+ weddings combined since 2010! Which for us, is pretty amazing and crazy to think about! We seriously have the best couples who trust us to document their most important memories! It’s not lost on us how cool and important our job is while getting to be a part of their best days, in some really cool places with great people.

Q. when can i expect to receive my wedding photo + video?

A. You will get a sneak preview 1-2 weeks after your wedding day for both photo and film. Your final photo gallery as well as your full wedding film will be delivered within 90 days after your wedding. Delivery time can vary depending on what season we are in and how busy we are!

Q. do I have to book both photo and video?

A. The majority of the weddings we book are as a photo and video team working side by side on wedding days but If you only need photo or only need video for whatever you are looking to have documented, that’s not a problem! You can absolutely book just photo or just video if needed depending on availability. There are incentives when booking photo + video collections together and then we offer a different pricing structure when booking booking video solo. If you have questions about this, just reach out to us!

Q. Do you have a studio space that you shoot in?

A. Most of our sessions are outdoor locations but we do also offer studio sessions for families, portraits and business branding in a beautiful studio space with a clean, cozy and neutral aesthetic. Krystal also shoots all boudoir sessions in their historic bungalow home in downtown Jacksonville, FL. Think lots of natural light, plants and neutral cozy boho vibes! There is also the option to use the personal green house for portrait and boudoir sessions as well! (depending on the season we are in).
