Welcoming Sydney Gray

Little Miss Sydney Gray joined us in this big world on the evening of September 2nd right before massive hurricane Dorian was set to hit Florida. I was in preparations for Dorian (which thankfully left Jacksonville pretty much unharmed despite normal wind and rain) as Melina texted me saying Sydney was going to arrive earlier than expected. Thankfully other than hurricane prep I was wide open that evening so I rushed over to the hospital to document. This wasn’t a full birth story but a “fresh 48” session which is when I arrive right after the birth and capture the first few hours of life in the hospital. I shot Melina and Graham’s wedding in 2015 and seeing them in the first few hours as they literally started this new chapter of their life was truly amazing and an honor. Surrounded by family and friends, little Sydney was welcomed into this world in the best way possible with a side of adventure because of a looming huge hurricane ;)

Shooting birth stories and fresh 48 type sessions are seriously my favorite. Thank you to everyone who has me be apart of such a special time in their lives
